MAY FUNDRAISING MONTH
The traditional UWC May fundraising has gotten off the ground with early returns a little better than in prior years. Fundraising is being conducted through the UWC Bulletin, by our central representations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. In addition various Ukrainian newspapers in the United States and Canada are assisting by inserting our fundraising appeal together with an envelope in one of their issues. We should like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Homin Ukrainy, The New Pathway, Ukrainski Visti (Edmonton), Svoboda, Meest and The Ukrainian Weekly. Our member organizations are urged to forward their assesment/memebership dues at this time to enable the functioning of our various activities. We extend gratitude to all contributors.

ANNUAL UWC SESSION
The annual UWC Board of Directors meeting will convene in Kyiv, August 21-22, 2006. The specific venue is the building of the Writers’ Union of Ukraine on Bankivska Street. We should like to extend our gratitude to the Writers’ Union of Ukraine and specifically its chair, Volodymyr Yavorivsky for offering accommodations. A tentative meeting agenda is provided on the reverse side. Kindly review and comment with specific amendments and additions. All will be considered if not contravened statutorily. While voting participation at the meeting is limited by statute to members of the Board, we extend an invitation to representatives of any organization with whom we have established a line of communication. We promise to be flexible hearing all subject to time constraints. Kindly note that the agenda includes, not only traditional matters such as reports by offices and council/commission chairs, but country reports as well. We do ask, however, that all speakers submit a “request to speak” no later than by July 15 and agree to abide by time regulations. All presentations/reports must be in writing for subsequent submission and publication.
